My dad is in the mend. The shortness of breath has subsided. It's not as bad as it was. He's walking and doing ok. Healing. But yesterday he developed bad heartburn. He's had it on and off now. It's affecting his sleeping. He's not sleeping good to begin with and I know that happens after major...

Thank you for responding. Your right, it's very early in his healing stage. The thing is my dad had these symptoms before surgery so not getting the instant fix and feeling even worse scares him. And worries us. We were told shortness of breath is part of the healing process. Still so scary. He...

Dad looks better today. He's more alert. He even went on his cell phone. He did develop subcutaneous emphysema in his right chest area which cause him to talk funny. They did a chest X-ray. Just needs time to go away. Anyone ever hear of that? It feels like Rice Krispies. It's air under the skin...

The surgeon said the valve and heart are good. Good the surgery alone cause the shortness of breath. He felt better after...

Yes. They explained. And the tube is out. Ugh. The pulmologist looked at his surgery results from 6 years ago and his Oxydgen was the same so they pulled the tube. He's sleeping now. He's alert. So stressful!!!

Surgery went well. He now has a cow tissue valve. He's still in ICU day 2. His vitals are stable. Lots of wires and tubes. He is responsive to us. Wiggles toes and opened eyes. But he is still on the breathing machine. This is so upsetting. His last OP he was off the machine within hours of the...

Just got an update. There is a lot is scar tissue. So the surgeon is working on that right now. My dad is stable. Nothing out of ordinary. The nurse said it will be a longer surgery because of the scar tissue. So he's not even on the lung heart machine yet. But he's stable. We are praying a lot...

Thank you for your support. My parents feel comfortable with this surgeon. I don't think they want a 2nd opinion. The surgeon was well aware of my dads blood condition when he had the first valve replaced. We are just trying to stay positive.

Just left with meeting with the surgeon. My dad will be having surgery on July 14th. The surgeon seems to think back in 2012 my dads INR went out of range and maybe that's when this happened because my dad started to not breath as well. He thinks maybe a clot or something is clogging the...

I will mention this Thursday. The surgeon mention leaflets. I'm so worried. We all are. We will do our best. Something needs to be done because my Dad loses breath even when he walks. So he rests all day for now. He has full trust in his surgeon. Maybe his INR should have been different with...
