Thank you. I am working, but I have not been working out as much as I have been. I think if this continues I will call my Doctor. Your answers have been very helpful.

    Depression and OHS

Hi there, I have not been on these forums for awhile, but everyone here has been so helpful with my questions in the past. I had AVR surgery on January 19th of this year and have been doing great. I occasionally feel as if my heart is racing and I have had a couple of episodes of ventricular...

SVT 3 and 1/2 half months after AVR...has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks, I feel much better knowing that this is not an uncommon event and not something to worry about. I did feel symptomatic, almost like my heart was beating out of my chest. I will definitely try the Valsava maneuver if it happens again. Hopefully it is a one time event, but if it happens...

SVT 3 and 1/2 half months after AVR...has this happened to anyone else?

My surgery was January 19th and I have been progressing nicely. I have been doing cardiac rehab. My cardiologist said that I have no limitations. I have and Edwards Bovine valve. Last Friday, as I was walking into cardiac rehab I just felt "off". I told them as soon as I arrived and they took my...

    Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

That's great news. My surgeon thought I would be bored with cardiac rehab, but my cardiologist thought it was a great idea. I just completed my 5th session today and I think it has done me a worls of good. It is reassuring to know that you are being monitored during exercise. I have been...

I was even having a few back spasms in the middle of the night. I finally bought a wedge pillow and that seems to help. I also put a pillow under my...

2 weeks post surgery-is coughing normal?

Hi everyone, I had a successful AVR surgery with a bovine valve on Jan 19th and I have now been home a week. I feel great and am getting stronger every day. I saw my cardiologist yesterday and he is please with my progress. He did say I still have some fluid in my lungs. I mentioned my cough...

Surgery in a Kidney Transplant Patient

Yay! I have a date. It is January 19th. I am actually excited to get this taken care of and move on to the next stage of my life. My consultation went well and I have my pre-op appointment next Thursday. Now I just have to decide between a tissue valve and a mechanical valve. Thank you...

Surgery in a Kidney Transplant Patient

Hi everyone, I my finally have my consultation with my surgeon tomorrow morning and I am a little nervous, but I feel pretty prepared after reading (mostly lurking) on the forums. I was wondering if anyone out there is a transplant recipient? I had my kidney transplant at UCSF 14 years ago and...

Which North Cal. facility would you recommend for an AVR ?

My cardiologist recommended Dr. Scot Merrick at UCSF in San Francisco. I have my consultation with him on January 6th. I am getting a lot more symptomatic and I am ready to have this taken care of.
