Bicuspid aortic valve diagnosed February 2015
Murmur since childhood.
Valve stenosis became severe (1.0² cm) 2019, with symptomatic breathlessness.
Aortic valve replaced via mini sternotomy with a 23mm Edwards Inspiris Resilia tissue valve – 7 August 2019 at St Thomas’ Hospital, London.
Ongoing post-op meds: Warfarin* daily - fluctuating as have only just begun this med (April '24) | Bisoprolol daily – 1.25 mg
*Small cerebellar infarcts early December 2023. Reason for current anticoagulation. Cardio-embolic source suspected.
Current Aortic Valve Area: 1.1² cm – moderate aortic stenosis.
