I Just got home from the hospital and she's doing great, aside from being in some pain and quite groggy from the medication. She was able to smile and laugh a few times.

I'm glad your mom is doing well. She'll be back with us before she knows it!:p

Wonderful news, You must all be relieved. Thanks for the updates and let your Mom know we are still saying prayers

I was able to visit again today for a few hours, and she's still doing well, with small improvements each day. She does still have varying amounts of pain and uncomfortableness from time-to-time, as is to be expected. The nursing staff appears to be very helpful and attentive, and my father has been able to spend a lot of time with her. I think the hope is that she'll be able to be on her feet for some brief physical therapy within a few days, and possibly may be transferred to the step-down unit of CTIC, also within a few days.

Thank you all again, for your thoughts and prayers.

Each day is an improvement and she seems to be doing much better today. The chest tubes came out last night/early this morning, and she's considerably more animated and able to speak and project a bit more. They are also beginning to move her off of morphine onto some lesser drugs, so she's more with it and aware as well. Things are going well and she wants to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

She is doing much, much better today. She is, as I type this message, being transferred across the hall to the step-down unit where she will remain for at least a few more days. She is able to maneuver herself considerably, and is now able to get up from the bed and chair with minimal assistance. She is also much more animated and says she feels "human" again :)

The last few days she has shown vast improvement. She will be transferring out to Kent Hospital (another local hospital) for physical therapy, most likely tomorrow. The doctors expect her to be at Kent for somewhere between one and two more weeks, depending on the how quickly she progresses... So far, so good.
