Yes, it is raining. What a nice pleasant sound to hear:):) You may think I am crazy, but I am not. I miss the rain!!! and here in So. CA. the rain is so rare...

Too bad, by the time I am typing this, the rain stopped:mad: My happiness was too short.;) at least the street and trees look fresh now and I shall enjoy this.:)

Eva,
We could use some rain over here. Can you do a little rain dance outside next time it rains? Then you know the neighbors will know your crazy.:D:D

We've been in severe drought here. We totally understand how you feel. It usually ends too quickly here as well. We have had sporadic rain recently, but always much less than initially forecast.

Hope you get a good soaker soon!!

We have been in drought conditions for several years in South Carolina ? I love the rain ? the way it smells ? the washing off of the earth ?. The only reason I even own an umbrella is that my hair cost a fortune to maintain:D

You are so funny. You made me laugh. Will dance and neighbors will think the surgery affected my brain;)

I hope so. When I do may rain dance, I shall keep you in mind too.;)

We only get an average of 9 inches of precipitation here in S. Idaho, and have been getting less than that for quite awhile (except last year, when it was at the average). I grew up in the Midwest, where we generally got a lot of rain. It rained yesterday during the trick-or-treating time, but all of us went anyway, and either used umbrellas or enjoyed the rain. It rained off and on today, too, but only enough to wet the ground.

It sure is different living in the high desert after being near Lake Michigan for most of my life. My husband has it even tougher-he grew up near the Pacific Ocean!

Still, the desert has its own beauty and charm. I love the way sagebrush smells after a rain. And I can see the Sawtooth Mountains when the air is clear, but they seem so much closer after a storm, especially when covered with snow when the valley is green or gold.

Hope all of you that need the rain are getting it.

Warm night in Idaho because of the rainclouds,
-Laura

EVA - love your new avatar!
Talking about rain.......would anyone here like to change places with me? We are to expect freezing rain here on Tuesday. :(

And this is LATE for us this year Wise.
Chances are you may not get anything this year. I know.....one can only hope, but you should really reconsider and get practiced up ......just in case ;)

Laura,

Thanks for sharing. I lived 18 years in Alexandria, Virgina and worked in DC and I loved the rain, the snow, the thunderstorms, the cold, the heat, not forgetting the malls and greenery--the whole package!! It took me a while when I moved end of 2001 to CA. to get used to 'one season' and wear same clothes all year round:eek:;) I became homesick until we moved to Redondo Beach, where we have change of 3 seasons every day;) good enough for me, especially being close to the ocean.

As you said above, there is another kind of beauty here as there is in your area, and so each state has its own unique beauty. Thanks to God for this beautiful nature He provided for us.:D

Send some rain our way my friend! We've been dry now for a while! :)
Yesterday we got up to 79 (in our shaded back porch) so it had to have been in the 80's. It's still hot during the days!
