does anyone happen to know the normal range for aotra sizes? sorry if this has been asked a million times before

My echo has 20--37mm as the normal range for the aortic root. That's 2cm--3.7cm.

thanks bina. post op i was at 3.7, so i guess i'm at the high end of normal

It will vary depending on your specific body frame size.
i.e. I am 6' 6" and very large framed and my curren t aneurysm is at 5.0 in my aortic arch and we are still watching it annually....if I were a smaller framed person; they would have already suugested it was time for surgery......

Yes, these "normal ranges" can be very deceiving....before OHS when my aorta was dialating, I was under the impression that it was still normal. Neither the echo reports nor my cardio ever said a word about the increasing size of it until I was having a cath 2 weeks before OHS, then the surgeon was called down to assure me that he would "take care of it" if needed, once the valve was replaced.
My normal is currently 23mm.
