I have a suit that is a "tankini" (two pieces, but the top covers up most of my tummy) that comes up to just above my scar line. I bought it because I liked the suit, not because I felt a need to cover it up. I like the tankinis because you don't have to take everything off to go to the bathroom, but it still covers my belly. The suit I'm referring to (I have others, but my scar does show) is made by "Jantzen." But I got it a long time ago, so I don't know if they still make the style (couldn't find it on the web).

I found a cute one piece at Newport News. It has a little higher neck but still really cute. I bought it online and was very happy with the quality - and it was on sale!

Good luck!

WOW! Thanks everyone for all of the good suggestions! I was thinking I should try Speedo- I forget it is as easy as shopping online- I am new to that concept...I always feel I need to try before I buy, which is why a swimsuit online would be the last thing I would think of...though asking about it online is perfectly natural :)
I never used to mind wearing a suit that showed my scar from my first OHS, but it was white- now it is angry red- and goes up much higher (and down lower) than my first. I will have to get a picture and figure out how to post it on the TOOTS forum.
And my cardiologist has given me permission to swim and work out basically doing whatever I want, so I have gotten back to my favorite elliptical machine, as well as weight training class (BODYPUMP) at Golds gym. The swimming I do is strictly recreational- with the 3 and 6 year old in the backyard pool.
Thanks again, I will have to check out the small talk forum more often! You guys are great!

Since my scar is horizontal, it doesn't show in most things. Many bathing suits, however, do reveal the small scar from when I had my wires removed. The bathing suit I have still has a plunging neckline, but laces just high enough to disguise the scar.

If I had a vertical scar, I wouldn't think twice about showing it off. You should be proud of it! Call it a badge of courage! Think of the stories you could tell people who stare! Yeah, that's where I got knifed when I was trying to rescue a bunch of old ladies from a mugger....

hey... i believe lands in has suits

but, i now dont worry about my scar... i call it my battle scar and i show it off proudly.

but, if you are not ready, then i would look at lands in or even speedo.
