Westie,
I'm not sure of the time zone difference between west Aukland and southeast Missouri (where I'm located), but by my calculations, you're about 60 hours away from mitral valve repair. And that's close enough for me to extend my best wishes for a successful repair and an uncomplicated recovery.

Please update us as you can; we always worry until we hear that all has gone well.
God Bless

Best wishes for a successful repair and uneventful recovery- Godspeed!

I'll be three weeks out from surgery when you're having yours done. I wish for you an easy time and speedy recovery. I hope you can feel as well as I do right now in a very short time.

Westie,

GOOD LUCK!

Thoughts/prayers coming your way for a SUCCESSFUL surgery :).

thank you

thank you

thank you everyone for your prayers and best wishes. i have 35 hours left.

it was raining most of today (saturday) so watched tv and in clear spells cleaned my wifes car and took my beloved old mg for a drive. her battery was flat so i had to push start her down a wet field. not so easy at anytime, probably not so clever 2 days before ohs! i got quite puffed.

my wife will post my progress if she can navigate the site ok

going, going, gone

going, going, gone

only 31 hours to go!

due at the hospital at 3.00 pm; seems silly because surgery is at 3.00 pm monday and all the testing etc is done. oh well, i will just go with the flow.

we have got approx 120 kms to drive to the hospital so we will leave approx 10.00 am and i will have a long lunch at my favourite bar in auckland and 3 beers of course. yes folks, even the men on death row get to choose their last meal!

n.b. in case some of you are wondering, i am a reponsible drinker, i never exceed the recommended safe maximum of 21 standard drinks per week and never drink less than that either.

i just want to thank everyone on this site again, you have been such a comfort over the last 2 years

Enjoy that long lunch and those 3 beers..:D Don't know if you have read the recent post about food tasting yucky after surgery....We all agreed with the poster. Takes a few weeks to get your appetite back...and probably that long to want a beer..(until you are off any pain meds/ect,)...........Remember on your ride home..to stop every so often..to walk a tad/ect..and be sure and ride in the back seat..Take some comfortable pillows, ect....Will be looking forward to someone posting for you..Bonnie
