Oh Gina, so sorry to hear this. Haven't been here in a couple of days, you poor thing. Cyber-hugs coming your way.

Hope this passes by quickly for you.

Ruth

Hey Gina! Hope you're feeling better today. I've had pericarditis, so I can really empathize with you. Glad you were able to enjoy some Greek food even though you couldn't get to the festival. Isn't it funny how comfort food really is comforting!?! Hang in there!!:) LINDA

you are on your way to that champagne! How long does it usually last? I think when I had it I was sick about a week, but it was a long time ago. Maybe some baklava(?) and tea instead of the champagne for now...Wishing you comfort. Brian

Hey, Gina--
So sorry you have to go through this, but you're such a positive woman. I admire that about you.

I hear my Greek cardio's wife makes a pretty amazing baklava--should I ask her for an order to send to you?

Hugs,
Debi

Hi guys,

I am feeling better today. I did go to work which made me very tired and I couldn't take my pain meds because of driving so I am chilling right now eating leftover gyro meat - Yumm.

Bina - I have 2 cats who have been at my side since I got sick. They truly seem to understand that "mommy" is sick.

Debi - the baklava suggestion sounds great but I have already eaten much more than I should but thanks for thinking of me.

Brian - the champagne will have to wait for a week or so which is about how much longer this will last.

Thanks to everyone else - you guys are the very best.

I should have mentioned Ellie's cure--- find someone who loves you & have them kiss the part that hurts the worst. (Ross & Tom--We are NOT asking for volunteers at this time).
Oh - but it would only be my shoulder so nothing too private or sexy. I am sure I have just started something tho.;) :D  ;)

To Gina-the Greek, Arguably the best cheer-leader on this forum,
Glad to hear that you've gone back to work and begun your recovery. It just isn't fun being sick, so ... get better!

Regards from,
Jess & his (sick-with-a-minor-cold which just isn't as bad a heart-related illnesses, if you ask me) wife ;)

Well, dang it, Gina!

Well, dang it, Gina!

THe title of your thread says it all. Big bummer and I am so sorry. Glad to hear that you are feeling a tad bit better today, but I hope you feel even better tomorrow................oh, well, that champagne will have to age just a tad bit longer. You have our love and prayers. Hugs. J.

Gina. Hope you are continuing to improve! I know I'm late chiming in, but please know that you are in my thoughts. Get better!!

Best wishes.

Update

Update

Everything seems to be returned to normal. Pain is gone, steroid roller coaster is almost over, INR is way too high due to Medrol despite cutting back on coumadin. ;)

All par for the pericarditis course. Enjoying a huge spinach salad with vidalia onions and madarin oranges. Wouldn't raise my INR on purpose but it can be okay sometimes when it happens. ;) :D

I have no doubt all your good wishes made this easier. Thanks again.

I'm glad to read this news, Gina. The steroids would have had me puking  (excuse my descriptive language) nonstop!
Enjoy your salad; it sounds delicious!:)
