Mary (gee, what a great name;) :p :) )
I wanted to start your surgery thread a little early, since I'm not sure what day you check into the hospital in Dallas.
You have a fine surgeon, at a topnotch facility, so I know that you will do fine.
Is there anyone who will be able to post an update after surgery? We worry until we learn that the surgery was a success.
See you on the other side!
Mary

Wishing you the best on Wed., Mary. We will all be very interested to hear how the repair by port access goes for you and we wish you an easy time of it and an uneventful recovery. Godspeed!
Phyllis

GOOD LUCK, Mary!

Thoughts/prayers coming your way for a SUCCESSFUL surgery!

Thanks for the positive posts going into my surgery. I am starting to get in that mode everyone talks about - getting everything in order. I spend the last couple of weeks trying to get all of my pending projects at work in order and today getting my house in order. Whew! I will be ready to have surgery! My sister recently joined VR.COM, Katie D, and will be posting after my surgery. She is in the waiting room right now (the VR waiting room). I will have my pre-op on Tuesday morning and pick up my sister at the airport that afternoon. The hospital has a hotel on the top floor so we (my hubby, adult step-daughter, our 13 & 11 yr son & daughter and my sister) booked rooms there for Tuesday night and a few nights beyond. (Of course my spot will be vacant after Tuesday, right?!) :D Check in a 6am on Wednesday and then away we go!!!!!

Hi Mary! You sound upbeat. Terrific. Hope all goes really well for you!

Susan - I'm trying hard to sound and feel upbeat. It's an emotional roller coaster, isn't it?

MaryC,
You and your family will be in my prayers.

Peace of Christ,
Don

Sounds like you are all ready, Mary. Godspeed and we look forward to your sister Katie's posts.

Oh I hear you there. Shock mixed with relief, and then more shock mixed with worry, and then even more shock mixed with hope and then peace -- it may all come in a different order but you will probably feel hope and peace right before your surgery. May all go well for you. Post again, Mary, and with any questions too. Take care.

Mary,

Sending you positive thoughts and lots of prayers for an uneventful surgery and easy recovery!

Wishing you and your family all the best!
Susies

Saying lots of prayers for a very successful and uneventful surgery for you, Mary.

Bon voyage!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed talking with you a week ago -- I told my husband that you talked as if you were going on a cruise, rather than having (the dreaded) open heart surgery!

You will do just fine! Will be looking forward to posts from your sister.

Hi Mary,
Have an easy in and out of it all. I'll be thinking of you .

MaryC, You wouldn't be normal if it wasn't a roller coaster. I love to hear how effectively people are able to cope, with the practical realities of getting their life in order. Sounds like you are doing a great job! It was down to the wire for me, and I had months! I will look forward to your sister's posts. Brian

Marsha,
Interesting you should mention a cruise. My husband and I decided we needed to come up with a positive incentive on the other side of this surgery. I have been wanting to take a cruise for the last couple of years but other things came up and took its place. We are going to start planning our trip after my surgery!
