 I am really frustrated. The last 3 weeks have been totaly off with INRatio and the Lab. Last week InRatio was 5.1, no lab, this week is 0.9 INRatio and 3.7 Lab. Week before INRatio 3.9, Lab 3.1. I am going to try calling QAS in the morning to see if they can help me figure out what is wrong. Any coments on what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking you possibly have a bad batch of strips. Or your machine might not be working correctly.

I am not trying to knock a good thing. There have been other threads regarding gaps between INratio and the lab. You may wish to search the forum and contact others to see what type of resolution them came to. Honestly, just posted about this same subject a few hours ago. I am leaning towards the purchase of another Coaguchek for this very reason.

So it sounds like you got a messed up machine. Regardless of gaps in the INRatio and labs, a 2.8 gap isn't even remotely possible with a machine that is working. Let us know what Marty's contact at Hemosense has to say.

Whenever you get an "off the wall" kind of reading it's always a good idea to RE-TEST. Maybe you had a bad test strip, or an improper sample.

Note that a 'Normal' person should test around 1.0 (say 0.8 to 1.2) so you could also check someone who is NOT anticoagulated as a reference.

Good Luck! Hope you find the 'root cause' of those discrepancies.

Were your fingers dry of alcohol? Did you force the sample out of the finger? It may simply be your testing method.
