Inquiring minds want to know (Hensylee and myself) . . . since you've undergone replacement, do you think your sexuality has been enhanced or diminished?
It's an annoymous poll, but if you would like to post a reply explaining your vote, please do!;)

What is this sex thing you mention? I vaguely remember something like sex from 20 years ago, but I'm unsure it's the samething.

And you think I'm kidding and I'm not.
I see you passed 13,000 posts without a peep from the rest of us . . .

PEEP

Ok, you deserve sex for that. Any volunteers?:p

Can't volunteer here Mary. Sorry Ross, I have to save my energy for my upcoming surgery!!

Where will the results from this be found? Another inquiring mind!

Ok,
we've had 12 votes but very few posts!
What gives?
Are we bashful? :p
I voted better than ever; what about everyone else?;)

I'm waiting for a selection a step or two down from Better than Ever. Not necessarily because of heart surgery, more because of just a general busy life and a husband that works 70 hour weeks.

Maybe I should vote Too soon to know. :D

I'm not bashful to post:D but, that (surgery) was 5 years ago......It was great before and after.. a few years..but, as we grow older..(66/76)....We find that just spending 24/7 together is enough without sex every day.week? Month? :p ....More important is that we are loving, kind to one another..everyday..and tell one another I Love You..Hubby brings me flowers from the garden that he grows in summer..Most important is that we still sleep in same bed and cuddle a lot.:D .....;) ;) : and we have been married for 40 years.:) ......Bonnie

Hi gang,

Interesting... So far.. other than Ross and myself... no guys step to the plate.... hmmmmmm

OK... I'll tell it from a guys' perspective...

It's not the sex that diminishes due to the surgery... it's the desire to have sex due to the heart medications.

Today's drugs, (hmmmm as in Viagra), allow guys to continue having good sex, (unless they are taking Nitro's that is), but... The "DESIRE" to have sex is diminished due to some of the medictions.

Don't think I am speaking just from personal experience, but from others here, and friends that I personally know that are now on certain heart medications.

BUT THEN AGAIN... . Perhaps.... age too, must be considered as a factor.

ppssst.... you wont get this information on " The View" only here on the VR Forum!

btw... Thanks Viagra! hehehe :)

All the best,
Rob

I had to split a gut at a male enhancement commercial last night. It shows a line of women wanting to date this guy taking the said medication. Someone please show me a line of women that simply want sex!

RobThatsMe makes a cogent point. Blood pressure medications like beta blockers can particularly inhibit both desire and ability. So there might be an unacknowledged deflation agent in the voting results. A fly in the KY, as it were.

I recently cut my beta blocker dosage by half...

Livin' large,

And there are certain kinds of cancer surgeries for males that really makes a difference where sex is concerned. The desire is there but even Viagara doesn't work in way too many instances. I know, been there, done that. But on the other hand, thanks to that surgery and my AVR, I'm still here talking about it and glad to be doing it. :)

I don't think so, Rob. Everything's still there and still works very well. We don't see each other enough because we are at opposite ends of the state; the magic might be caused by that separation.

Interesting that "diminished" and "better than ever" are exactly equal.

Well, move closer then.:D

my experiences....

my experiences....

when i was suffering congestive heart failure over 11 years ago while my aortic valve was failing i had more sex than ever! my wife was stuck in a conundrum. she knew i really wanted it, but was afraid it would kill me. a few years later a marriage therapist asked if i took her increased interest as being malicious. of course not, i replied. this time around, with a 5.8 ascending aneurysm, she was even more afraid she'd kill me. hence, not as much sex as last time. since the aorta has been replaced its only been about 3 weeks, and i still cant do missionary position that comfortably. but i'm sure we'll be back to it. cant imagine not doing doing so. heck, i guess id rather not be here. not sure about her opinon, but she doesnt post here, so i feel safe in sharing. -- joe
