Hello all you wonderful VR people. I want to start off by wishing all of you an outstanding holiday season. I'm still around and kicking, and hope to go on a 50 mile backpack trip next summer. Finally loaded in a new avatar, but even it is old. I am a wee bit greyer now...

I am writing because the father (Chris) of my friend (Keri) is having his Aortic valve replaced next Monday, 11/20. Chris and I have been playing phone tag, but I know that both he and his daughter have been looking at this site, so I am sending this in case we don't connect.

Chris, I know it is a major event that you are looking at, but you have a wonderful family not only at home, but here at VR to support you. These beautiful people made me feel so welcome and loved, and they made the surgery and recovery bearable. We have all been through what you are about to go through, so please feel free to ask questions or seek suggestions.

If we don't connect before your surgery please know that you are in our prayers...

Best wishes,

Swill

Hey Swill-

Nice to see you and hear that you are doing well.

Best wishes, Chris. Hope you and your family will join this site and let us know how things went.

well, hey there, Swill. You sound great and it's good to see you.

For Swill's friends, please come on in and say 'hey'. You will be very welcome. Anything you want/need to know somebody will either answer your questions or find answers for you. This site was created just for you.

Chris is doing fine!

Chris is doing fine!

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. I just heard from Keri, and her father is doing well. He had his Aortic valve replaced with a 25mm St. Jude's valve.

Best wishes to all for a happy -- and safe! -- Thanksgiving holiday...

Cheers,

Swill
