Oh Gina,
I hope by now you are up and flying high in Ohio! I just hate it when you hurt! How long does it take for the meds to kick in and make you feel more like yourself?? Well, sweetie, as you have been for me, I am there for you! Please take care of yourself and feel the love! It's here for you!

Prayers and many hugs,
Debbi

Sorry to hear this, Gina:

Sorry to hear this, Gina:

I have been reading some about relationships, and think often of the several "relationships" I have on this forum with people I have never even met. Relationships are critical to us, especially when something comes along to make life hard, or painful or both. It is such a great thing to have access to so many people who truly care about you.

Some would say, "How can this be, since there is nothing cyber-friends can do to help solve any of these problems"? What you have done for me, and many others-and what we want to do for you, is to express our sympathy, empathy. And in fact, I have come to believe-as I get older-that this helps a lot. I just pulled down my copy of 'The purpose driven life", by Rick Warren. I love the way he puts it. "Sympathy meets two fundamental human needs: the need to be understood, and the need to have your feelings validated". There was a time when I saw no value in these things. I have now grown enough, and gone through enough, to know they can be worth a lot.

I can tell from reading the other posts that this is very painful. I hope it is not too dangerous. I will pray ernestly for you, and will keep checking to see how you are doing.

Gina,
A symptom / illness I've not experienced, but it doesn't sound like fun. As others have said before, get well soon (& in the meantime, enjoy your meds).

Best wishes & hugs,

Jess

Gina, So sorry that you are having this pain & illness! You are such a wonderful lady and I truly hope the drugs work quickly in your favor! God Bless ya Lady!

I'm Fed Ex-ing some hugs to you, geebee. I hope you get better quickly.

Take care of yourself now,

The love is defintely working (along with the Medrol and Percocet, of course).;) :D

I feel much better today and am resisting the urge to do things. I am supposed to be resting but, as you all know, bed rest when you feel better really takes a lot of mind control.

I am going back to work tomorrow so will see what activity does to this, if anything.

Thanks for all the good thoughts, hugs and prayers. I have no doubt they were just as important as the pills (if not more so).

No longer whining in Ohio.:) :) :)

There must be something in the air that induces pericarditis at this time. I had my pericardium stripped except for two tiny tiny sections and now am also dealing with pericarditis. One would think it is not possible at this point. My left diaphragm is paralyzed which makes it doubly hard to even sniffle. I was glad to hear that it was thiis rather than a pleural effusion so I just did a mental trade off. Hope you are able to take a little deeper breath today. I guess one should never throw out that spirometer but gads would that hurt right now. Take care now.

Kathleen,
It's really good to hear that I am not alone but sorry that you are not feeling well. I was beginning to think this couldn't be pericarditis since I have so little pericardium left but I guess it doesn't take much to get inflamed. Luckily there is not any indication of infection in the blood (no elevated sed rate) so this too shall pass. Thank God for drugs at times like these. Are you on meds also?

Hey Gina, I had a case of severe pericarditis after my last surgery and I know it is not fun to have. Thank God for the likes of percocet!! Hang in there girl, because you are almost over the worst and will have sunny days and smooth sailing ahead!! Thanks for all the feedback you give to everyone on this forum. Take care and get well soon!!
