Let me know where your going to be dining and I'll see what I can do. At the moment, not looking to promising.

I didn't forget! :)

If you want to drive through Pittsburgh on Saturday the 12th, we can meet somewhere for breakfast or something. I'm right off of I-279, about 5 miles south of the I-279 - I-79 Interchange. You could even drop by my house if you want.

It looks like you're booked in Johnstown at 11:00 a.m. that day, but we get up around 7:30 every Saturday.

Arg. Very sorry that it doesn't look promising, Ross. But, as we get the details figured out, I'll let you know. Who knows ... maybe I'll get to OH early enough on Friday that I could do something like we did last August ... a quick stop for a cup of tea or somethin'.....

Hmmm...that is a possibility, but a bit farther south than I had planned to go Saturday morning. The last time I did the trip from the Akron OH area to the Johnstown/Holsopple area, I believe it took me 4 hours. And, if I remember correctly, the I-79/I-80 interchange was at about the halfway point. Would you be willing/interested in driving up north a bit to say, the Butler PA area along RT 422? I doubt it'd be for breakfast, but we could meet for a cup of tea or somethin' ;).

OR...perhaps we could meet early Sunday morning, depending on what time I leave for MI....

I know I have a few other people (especially from the First Gen MC club) in that area and I'm not sure which would work best for them. Perhaps, if I end up going to Pittsburgh Sunday morning, we could meet up then....

*shrugs*

Lots of variables and possibilities ... let's do keep in touch and figure something out ... would love to meet you :).

Christian I just figured out why Cort is so wired all the time. It's all these tea stops he makes! :D

I don't think I could drive up to Butler, because I'd like to bring my wife along (since she's the one with the chest scar). And if I bring her along, I have to bring the baby along. The baby hates long car trips and it's probably 45 minutes each way. 90 minutes of crying is just too much.

If you do come through Pittsburgh on Sunday, we'll make the effort to meet up with you anywhere near the city. We only live about 5-10 minutes away from downtown.

LOL! Except, it isn't caffeinated tea ;).

Oh my ... I'm very sorry ... I hadn't even considered the baby and the long car trip ... please forgive me! [I suspect that's one of the "perks" of being single ... no babies ... he he he ;)] So, no worries.

Actually, from looking at the map, you aren't far away from where the Friday night cruise is that I attended when I was in the area last year. BUT, I'll be in the Akron OH area Friday night with some college friends. Sssooo....hmmm..... I suppose, depending on how early I can get my butt out of bed Saturday morning and on the road, we might be able to meet up Saturday morning. OR....Sunday morning, on my way to MI.

Also in the mix ... an uncle has tickets to the Saturday night Pirates game. Thus far, I'm NOT planning to go with ... so I can meet up with people, if possible. Maybe Saturday night might be workable?

Plenty of time to figure things out. I believe I have previously PMd you my number. If not, let me know, and I'll get that to you.....

I sure hope we're able to work something out ... I feel bad that I've been through PA many times and not met up with you ... especially since you are in Pittsburgh ... he he he.

My weekend has just freed up very nicely. So if you can get near Pittsburgh, we can meet you. Saturday night would be fine. Frankly, any time would be fine.

We definitely could meet you near PNC Park on Saturday night for dinner or something (our treat). We're down there all the time. Do you like German food? We're regulars at a venue that's very baby friendly.

I'll check my old PMs for your number. [Edit: No PMs from you in my box]

Cort, so you're a mile-a-minute on "unleaded"??? God help us all when you go fully caffeinated! :)

LOL! I only go fully caffeinated on Saturdays when I'm cleaning cars ... a can of regular Coke during lunch seems to wake me up enough to finish the car in the afternoon ;).

*nods*

Definitely appreciated. We may end up (if OK with you) meeting up at the same time with some people I know from my First Gen MC club ... depending, of course, on how schedules all work out ;).

Well, I suppose I could always try it ;). We'll see, tho. Seriously, I'm not sure if I'll be hungry on Saturday night, given that I'd be coming from the reunion. Tho, if we meet for breakfast Sunday morning early while I'm on my way to MI ... that might be a different story ;).

Correcting that momentarily ;).

I-280

I-280

Cort,
We went to Cleveland a few weeks ago for my 50th high school reunion.
I usually take 280 but it was closed. Probably still constructing the new Toledo bridge.
You might want to go one more exit on I-80, it's not very far and then head north on I-75.
Rich

*chuckles*

That bridge work must be famous in the OH/MI area ;). He he he ... several people have warned me against that route! So, it looks like some of us will meet up along I-75 N (just past the I-80 interchange) in Toledo for something to drink, while I'm en route to MI.

And, Rich, do you think you'll be able to join us at Pasquales? Just curious....

Cort,
I'm not sure if I can or not.
We live a long way NE of there, and with the cruise going on it might be pretty tough.
Rich

Rich,

I'll be there the weekend before the "full blown" cruise. Heh ... I've already had some "static" from my car buddies there about coming a week too early ... he heh.

At any rate, no worries either way. Sure would be nice to see you again, of course, but if it doesn't work out, always another time. I'd love to make separate stops to see people, but with the limited time I have, that just isn't possible this time around :(.

Cort, Let me know when you take one up my way! Hope your trips are great bro! Brian

Brian,

Depending on time, perhaps next year when I go east. If not, I'll see about making a trip out to MA. I do need to get to FL and MN and CA sometime, too ;). He he he.

I second that, Rich

It might be a good idea to skip I-280 and just go 5 minutes more and get on I-75 N as Rich said. I avoid the whole area, because they are redoing I-280 S to Rt. 20 interchange. They are still working on the new bridge and they stop traffic there all the time. The detour is a nightmare if you don't know Toledo. Besides even with no construction, I-280 isn't that much faster.
Good luck!:)

*chuckles*

RCB, you are the umpteenth person to mention that change to me ;). He he he ... good to know I have some great people lookin' out for my driving experiences, too! Thank you! Say, would you be able to meet up in the Toledo OH area on Sunday afternoon? Planning to stop at a Wendy's along I-75 N.....

In the meantime, I've updated a route and added a couple meet'n'greet times/places for this trip ... coming up THIS weekend, starting Thursday night/Friday morning, Aug 10/11..... If you're interested in meeting up, let me know ASAP so we can exchange ph#s earlier, rather than later! If you already have my ph#, don't hesitate to call me!

THU, AUG 10 (night) [or] FRI, AUG 11 (morning) / IL-IN-OH

* POSSIBLE stop in Pittsburgh for breakfast (depending on location of SAT night's MEET'n'GREET)
...leave Pittsburgh by 10a
* Route = (PA RT 219 N ... PA RT 422 W) ... I-79 N ... I-80 W ... I-75 N
note: Due to several people warning me that I-280 is closed due to the bridge nearing completion, I'm taking I-80 to I-75 N. I'm surprised I didn't think of this myself, as I got "trapped" in that bridge construction last August during my Eastern road trip, en route from the Akron OH area to Detroit MI. I had taken I-77 to I-90 to RT 2 to I-280.....
* MEET'n'GREET in Toledo OH area, Wendy's along I-75 N, 2pmish
...leave for Detroit no later than 3pmish
