Am I the only one that notices that part of my lower Sternum is missing? I keep forgetting to ask the cardiologist about it til after I leave. It is on the lower right side. A portion on the lower left side feels kind of like a diving board...Does this make sense to anyone?

Thanks

No, Johnny, you are the first with a 'missing' part. You may have to ask your surgeon about it. He's the one with the xrays. Have you been back to see him/her? This is really weird. Maybe somebody has some ideas.

Funny you ask.

I used to have a bump or bone right at the end of my sternum or rib cage in the middle. I could never quite lay on my stomach on a hard surface because of it.

Guess what? After my surgery it is totally gone. Is a mystery to me but a good mystery.

I felt a slight indention in my ribcage at the top just below my collarbone on one side after my first surgery. It has been there since. It's like they didn't put me back together right :( It's never been a physical problem nor is it visual noticable. It just feels weird when I rub it.

Maybe they mislaid part of your sternum. Just kidding. I don't think they actually take anything out. They just saw you in half and then wire you up again. It may feel different to you because things were moved a bit. Do you have numbness on the side of the incision?
