"See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and His arm rules for Him. See, His reward is with Him, and His recompense accompanies Him. He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and He carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young." Isaiah 40:10-11

We Trust in this Truth and await His leading.

Coach (my husband, Corbin's "Pa")left early this morning to take Travis to the airport to fly back to Michigan. Corbin is sleeping in Pod A, kept sedated as he is quite agitated if he awakens. His creatinin and BUN are still much too high but his liver enzymes are not too bad. Although Corbin initially was elimating some excess fluid, the output has again diminished. The doctors say they didn't "catch this" as quickly as they had thought and it may take more time for his kidneys to improve enough for another surgery.

Travis is hoping to confer with the doctors and relieve some of the pressure and workload from Terri as God leads them to make decisions for Corbin's care.

Terri is especially thankful this morning for our church family. As she was leaving the hospital last night she was greeted by Tina, who stopped by on her way through Michigan, and brought packages of comfort and cheer from many people in our church. Terri said it arrived at just the right moment and she was richly blessed. She will cherish every measure of lovingkindness that has blessed her and honored God.

There is no other news that I can share that would be helpful right now, but I promise to post updates as God leads. Thank you for continuing to pray for Corbin's healing. Thank you for joining us in praising God for new mercies each morning. Thank you for rejoicing in the miracles God will perform in Corbin's life.

May God be glorified THIS day.

Latest update:

It is only by His power that I am able to find hope for tomorrow, peace for today and strength for the moment. Praise God!

I've spoken with both Travis and Terri. Corbin's feeds were stopped again when he began vomiting bile with a very enlarged abdomen. X-ray showed extreme constipation for which he has been treated numerous times today. Until it is resolved they will not resume feedings. He has gained more fluid weight but they've had to stop another diuretic due to continuing increases in CR and BUN (kidney distress).

The doctors did NOT conference today since the surgeon's decision early in the week was to send Corbin to the cath lab Monday morning for a stent in the right pulmonary artery. This is an intermediate step to avoid another open heart surgery and relieve some of the pressure, but will not resolve the full problem. Dr. Ohye will be standing by with an available OR in case the cath cannot enter or effectively stent the RPA. There is danger of shredding the stenotic RPA which is pieced together from several procedures previously. Please pray.

Forgive me if I'm repeating prior information, but the focus is currently on getting his kidneys in condition to have the cath procedure on Monday

Thank you for your kindness to pray for Corbin. The messages left on this carepage are priceless. The scriptures sustain us and your faithfulness to pray and share Truth honors God. I know some of you receive these messages indirectly, forwarded from a friend or caregroup leader. I would strongly encourage you to go to www.carepages.com, register yourself and then enter the password CorbinGrabb (no spaces) to receive updates directly and immediately, PLUS be able to read the message board. You will be blessed immeasurably by the love and care expressed by so many on Corbin's behalf on the message board.

Tomorrow is a HUGE day. This morning our church prayed for Corbin and we Praise God that Pastor Dave flew out today to be with T&T. God cleared the massive storms here to allow Dave to go (and got him a GREAT rate on the flight yesterday!) God has already ordained tomorrow, knows exactly what Corbin needs, and we rest in Him. Dr. Lloyd will attempt to place a stent to gently open the right pulmonary artery enough for blood flow. This is an interim, temporary measure to improve Corbin's circulation until more permanent repair can be done. Lord, we humbly beseech You to heal Corbin's heart. We ask for full healing of Corbin that no procedure be necessary. If catheterization is necessary, we ask You to send your angels to guide the doctor's hand in the cath lab and place Your protection on the arteries that they will be strong enough to not tear yet flexible enough to stretch to sufficient size. We ask you to sustain Corbin through this critical procedure and heal his body. We give you all the glory for Corbin's life and Your faithfulness to him. Corbin = "for whom God will provide".

Corbin was much happier today -- what a gift! (Yesterday Travis said Corbin was "mean as a snake"!) He was able to go outside with T&T and was smiley. His CR and BUN (kidney condition)actually improved some and other than some adjustment on his feeds, there was no other real change. He's still gaining fluid weight in congestive heart failure; thus, the necessity of tomorrow's procedure. Corbin is first case in the cath lab. Please pray for God to heal Corbin. If he must go to the cath lab, that God would give great wisdom and skill to Dr. Lloyd and divinely guide the cath to place the perfect stent in the perfect place successfully; that Corbin's blood would flow adequately into his lung and the lung will restore and his circulation improve; that the kidneys would improve and no infection would enter; that Corbin will be successfully and comfortably anesthetized and safely revived; that T&T would be content with his care and at peace throughout the day, trusting fully in God, the Great Physician.

Thank you for holding up Corbin and the family in prayer. I will post updates as soon as they are received and thank God for your care and prayers.

Terri has asked for prayers for baby Jake who was life flighted to U Mich from Tennessee some weeks ago with the same heart defect. He was placed on ECMO (like Corbin, life support) and has not been able to come off in over 3 weeks. She asks that you please pray for Jake and this precious family who have ministered so generously to Terri, you can go to his carepage by password JakeRodgersJourney (no spaces). God is working mightily in this family.

We look forward to rejoicing with you on Monday. May God be glorified THIS day.

Psalm 37:7, "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him."
Psalm 42:5, "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God."

Corbin went to the cath lab shortly after 9 am and they were successful in access but neither stent that was placed would hold. In fact, they could not safely remove the cath and have left it in, with an arterial line, and Corbin is being moved back to the PCTU because Dr. Ohye is not ready for him. No one knows what Dr. Ohye will do, but we trust that God will advise him and give him great wisdom in the OR. Corbin is "relatively stable" and will, of course, remain anesthetized until he goes to the OR.

Please pray that God will clear the path for Dr. Ohye to get to Corbin QUICKLY and that Dr. Ohye will hear God's wisdom. That God will direct Dr. O's skilled hands to be creative, swift and safely correct, improve or repair as needed to not just sustain Corbin but to return him to his active, full life. Please pray for protection for Corbin from human error or infection. Please pray that God will handle every little logistic to care for Corbin, T&T. Please pray for God's perfect timing and perfect healing for Corbin.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Our God is bigger than any adversity and He loves Corbin even more than ALL of us do! May He be glorified THIS day!

"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal." Isaiah 26:3-4

Our area is having a storm emergency -- have had over 7 inches of rain in 24 hours, basements flooded, roads closed, offices closed and now our phone line is out. Unfortunately I only have a message from Travis but hope to speak to him soon by cell.

Dr. Ohye spoke with T&T and then took Corbin to the OR about 2:45 pm EST. Dr. O says it will take a LONG time to open Corbin's chest because of all the scar tissue and the age of the newest incisions. Then Dr. O will open up the fontan circuitry to remove the 2 stents and the catheter from this morning. Next he will look at the right pulmonary artery to see how he can augment it. He does not know what he will find or what he will do. But God does! God is not surprised and God knows just what Corbin needs. May Dr. Ohye hear God's wisdom and be skilled and patient. God has used Dr O to save Corbin many times before! Please pray for Dr. Ohye to not be weary after a full day's work; to have clarity of mind, skill, patience, wisdom and gentleness. Please pray for Corbin to be protected from human error and infection, to be calm, content and pain-free. Please pray for T&T to know God's "perfect peace" as they wait, probably until at least 8 pm this evening, and for all of us to glorify God in these circumstances.

"Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me." Psalm 50:15

May God be glorified THIS day.

God is able to do immeasurably MORE than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us." Eph 3:20

We are praising God for good news. God is glorified in His faithfulness and leading of the surgeon, care for Corbin, mercy and kindness to all of us. When Travis called at 5:45 they'd only made it through the scar tissue into the chest (3 hours), so by the time they put him on bypass, removed the cath parts, and made RPA repair it was after 9 by the time Corbin was brought back up to PCTU. He is settled and relatively stable, praise God!

Dr. Ohye was only able to find ONE of the 2 stents placed earlier by cath, so finding and assessing the location of the second will be an issue. He did patch (again!)the RPA to enlarge it, immediately reducing the internal pressures by about half. This should improve Corbin's fontan circulation, improve bloodflow to the right lung, thus improving heart function and perfusion. Corbin is intubated but his chest is closed. He's receiving a unit of blood and his bp is a little low. He's on some dopamine, milrinone and not much sedation. By the time they took him to the OR he was climbing out of the bed due to agitation and pain (or withdrawal) so T&T are working with the dr's to assure that pain med is sufficient when the paralytics wear off. Corbin must now recover from another (8th or 9th?) open heart surgery, so he has a very long way to go, again, but he has been given another opportunity for healing and for life. Dr. Ohye was pleased with the outcome and we pray that the patch holds, that the RPA remains open, that there is no bleeding nor infection, that the "missing" stent is not a hazard (he actually has accumulated a variety of "spare parts" in the right lung over the past 2 years!), that his blood pressure improves, that Corbin is comfortable to recover quickly and that this repair will improve his circulation and allow his kidneys and liver to function more effectively.

We also thank God AGAIN for Dr. Ohye. This wonderful man works tirelessly and is devoted to his patients. May he find sweet rest this evening and feel God's pleasure for his dedication and skillful use of God's gifts.

How can we thank you enough for your prayers and caring? You have ministered to us by your messages and I've spent much time today reading them. God is glorified by your commitment to pray. Corbin is still in critical condition and we must not grow weary of praying for his needs. I give thanks to God for his divine intervention and great mercy and pray that you will give Him ALL the glory and honor THIS day. We give thanks for each one of you and pray that you will be richly blessed.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with Hope by the Power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

"And so we celebrated, because God had, indeed, worked miracles for us." Psalm 126:3

This has been my main reason for being on the Net today. I keep checking on Corbin's events today. Still sending prayers. One more hurdle jumped.
