Claudia - When I read that story, I sat here and smiled. I can think of several members and past (also passed) members who clearly fit Mr. Wheeler's mold. I don't think any of us come here with the intent to "help the world" but if we are able to help but one person, then the world is better off for our having been here.

I have my own story about support here and on smoking cession. I was looking at aortic valve replacement in 2001, had just lost my mother 10 months before. And I had to quit smoking before surgery. I went on support for the surgery here, and then also joined a message board for the smoke quit. I have been somber for 16 years and it will be 16 years in September. I still come to help others. I am need help to connect to people while I am connecting to myself. This is a best place to get help of any kind. You are so welcome here. Hugs for today.
