I am 38 yr old and had aortic stenosis discovered around 35yrs. I had pressure gradient above 100 so docs advised to get AVR done soon with mechanical valve. Due to some logistical issues St Jude was not available in hospital and i had choice of On-x or ATS. On-x has odd sizing valves and ATS has even. My doc told that whatever fit well he will use any of them as he don't want to compromise on right size of valve.

My recovery was good. I spent 2 days in ICU and 7 days in private ward for recovery. I had no other strange symptoms except continous lying on hospital bed activated my cervical spondolytis shoulder pain and i started having sleepless nights.

Initially i ignored the pain as i was focussing on recovering from AVR and chest stitches. I was discharged on 13th Mar and hardly i could spent 12 hrs at home, i was readmitted to hospital. At home i could sleep whole night due to my shoulder pain and in morning i got fainted twice with some head injury.

In hospital docs couldnt understand the reason of my collapse. They put me on 24hrs holter monitoing for checking any pulse drop or heart blockage. Parallel i got consulation from orthopedic and neuro specialists and they completely denied if my collapse was due to neuro or cervical pain. Awaiting holter monitoring report.

Anyone having similar experience post AVR surgery? Any suggestion or guidance to handle this.

thanks in advance.

Best wishes and hang in there :)
