Does anyone else have pain on their right side near surgical bump?

I was waiting for 'Guest' to tell us how long ago he or she had surgery. I get pain to the right side of my incision, pain when I breathe in, sometimes not very noticeable, sometimes noticeable. I am three and a half years out of surgery. Cardiologist first said it was costochondritis and then said it was the wires irritating. Rheumatologist said long term pain along sternum is actually fairly common after AVR and to do chest strengthening exercises - that actually aggravates it which kind of tells me it's a touch of mild costochondritis with me. I still continue with chest exercises as it makes sense to have good supporting muscles there. Check with your cardiologist.
