The wife and I got up early this morning and drove in to the local shopping mall to participate in our first Heart Walk. While registering, everyone was amazed that I just had surgery Jan 21. I wasn't sure how far I was going to be able to walk. I made two complete laps (10 laps are equal to 3 miles) and felt great. I decided I better not press my luck and mess something up but felt I had enough energy left to go more. And this from a guy who couldn't take 6 to 10 steps pre-surgery without stopping to get my breath.
Amazing!!!!!!!
Got my "I'm a Survivor " red cap which I'll wear proudly. Thanks to all.

I am sure I was not able to walk over 1/2 mile 2 weeks after my last surgery. Some people who are not OHS suvivors can't walk that far. Congratulations on your great success. You must be very pleased and I am pleased for you.

Congratulations. I still remember it being a big deal to make it to the end of my driveway and back two weeks after my surgery. It took me a month to work up to a 1/2 mile.

AHEM, ditto, Ross.
That is wonderful, G. Bet you didn't have a clue that life would be so good again. Isn't it a great feeling to know that you can go to the mall or anywhere you want to go and be able to walk as much as you want. It only gets better. Congratulations.

Congrats on the walk. a bit soon perhaps. But glad you did not take too much of a chance. You took it easy and did great. Just let yourself get build up before doing it again. It is great to do something for someone else. Keep up the good work.
