Hank,

I tried to register my husband Jim W to the forum so that he can post updates from my surgery under his own name. I went through the process and received the e-mail in his account to activate his account. When I went to complete the final step, I received an error and could not complete it.

Here is the link:
http://www.valvereplacement.com/register.php?a=act&u=86&i=992793353

This is the error I received:

Not Found

The requested URL /register.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.19 Server at www.valvereplacement.com Port 80

Please help!

Hi Kirsty,

I think the error message you got usually indicates that a connection problem has arisen between your IP server and the one holding the site you are trying to access.

When it has happened to me I have found that the only cure sometimes is to shut down, ( sometimes the whole puter ) and try the connection again after a clean restart.

keep trying though,

and Im sure Hanky will provide the correct answer in due course.

I believe that the cause of these errors is due to the fact that the company we are hosting our site with has recently upgraded and moved the actual servers that our site is sitting on. This sometimes confuses your computers past recollection of where certain pages should be. Usually a refresh of the page will do the trick, if not, then closing and restarting your browser should do it. If you continue to have problems, please let me know.
