Hi Nicole

You cannot have both an avatar and a picture, though we refer to them both as avatars. Now that I have you confused, let me tell you how to post a picture as an avatar.

1. You need a picture to be resized to no more then 100 x 100 pixels or roughly 1 inch by 1 inch in size. Once you have this picture, save it to your desktop or your documents or somewhere that you can find it, because you'll have to upload it from your computer.

2. To upload the picture--Go to the top of the page here and right beside the VR.com logo is a button that says "User Cp", click that.

3. On the next page, you'll see a tab marked "Edit Options", click that.

4. On the next page, scroll down to the bottom of the page to where it says "Change Avatar" and click that.

5. On the next page, you can either choose one of the premade av's or you can go to the bottom of the page and select a "Custom Avatar" which would be the picture that you want by your name.

6. If you go with the custom av, you need to be sure the little "yes" button is marked just above where it shows your current AV.

7. Now click "Browse" and navigate to the picture that you saved and want to post and double click it.

8. Click "Submit Modifications"

Your new picture Avatar is now posted by your name.

If you have a picture that you want to post and it's way too big, email it to me and I'll resize it for you to post.

I hope I explained this well enough. Let me know.

...use a picture from a CD made from a digital camera? I.e., upload from the D drive rather than from a download to C? Thanks! Susan

Sure, I'd just have to convert it to a JPG image and resize it. If you want to send it this way, I can do it or if your up to the challenge and have the software to do it, you can. So long as it's a JPG or JPEG and its no bigger then 100 x 100 pixels, it doesn't matter what drive you up load it from.
