Hi Hank (and others) --

A friend over on the Ross Procedure forum with a child who has undergone AVR remarked that they hand found little receptivity on VR.com to the concerns of the parents of children who are undergong valve replacement, most threads and forums being focused on the concerns of adults writing in about their own (or occasionally spouses') concerns.

That made me think -- mightn't it be appropriate to start up a forum on this selfsame site dedicated to pediatric AVR, as there are a lot of kids and parents in that situation and their fate is certainly as important to them (and so to the rest of us) as anyone else's?

What do you think?

Peter

They probably don't get much response here because few, if any of the existing members have any experience in this area.

Do you think the reception for these people is better on the Ross forum because so many pediatric cases with kids end up being Ross Procedure's? I hear it's a popular choice for children and youth because of the ability for the allograft to grow with their growing bodies.

Personally, I don't think many of the current member base would use the forum. This does not mean it wouldn't be valuable for a potential new member base. After all, much of the info they want to know is the same information we seek as adult patients.

I like the idea. If it doesn't get used, it can always be removed right?

Just my .02,
Kev

I tend to agree.
Adding a forum for parents with children facing AVR of some sort would be very benneficial to all of us.
