What a roller coaster. I am feeling better longer but still have my dips. I am on a three day run of just feeling whipped. I was wondering. . . . is it typical. I think mentally I expect that I should feel great. . .remembering that surgery wasn't that long ago is getting harder. I am ready to tear out of the gates and not slow down. So I am a little frustrated. . .should I be. Seth

I see you had your surgery back in October so you are about 5 months out. Yes, for me, the ups and downs were normal. My running did not come back in a linear fashion....more ups and downs....sort of the 3 steps forward then 2 back. You still gain ground but get upset that you slide back at times. I didn't want to believe it, but at around the one year mark, things really got better in my training. Hang in there...this is normal...

I was up and down like a yo-yo for the first year. Tired and achy one week, full of energy the next. I found it sometimes changed with the weather or if I over did it. Recovery in my mind was much further ahead of my body, so I'd often over did it and paid for it later. For me, recovery was the worst part of OHS as it was so frustrating. I learned the meaning of patience. After my one year anniversary I seemed to turn the corner and it's been fine ever since. I still have those occasional "bad" days, but much less frequently.

Seth....are you on daylight savings time?...Setting the clock up an hour kicked my fanny.....But I do agree with the others.....at 5 months drag days are normal....It was about a year before I was sure that my "worn out days" were not surgery related....Hang in there...

Oh Seth,
Hang in there. Its true for some of us. You take three steps forward and two steps back. I guess it just our bodies telling us 'I'm not ready yet'.
I'm almost one full year post-op, and its just been the last two months that I feel like I should......well like I did before surgery - (I didn't have any symptoms prior to surgery)
Be patient, it will get better:)

Seth, don't expect to be 100% at 5 months, most people need more time than that.:)
