WHY IS IT that when we go to FORUMS and click on a thread, we are taken to the FIRST UNREAD POST,
BUT, when we click on NEW POSTS and then click on a thread, we are taken to the BEGINNING of the Thread?
Wouldn't it make more sense to be taken to the FIRST UNREAD POST after clicking on a thread under NEW POSTS?
What does everyone else think about this?

Al, on my computer, when I click on the little arrow right before the thread name I am taken right down to the first unread post. If I click on the words then I go to the beginning of the thread.

Al, If you enable the "Linear - Newest First" option under User CP > Edit Options > Thread Display Options you can get the behavior you need by default. ( I think it should be enabled by default for all users -- but might confuse people who are used to the other way ). Burair

Thanks for the replies and information Betty and Burair.
Where is my "User's Manual" when I need it? :D
Betty, after checking your technique I see that clicking on the arrow gives me the first New Post and clicking on the Post Title takes me to the beginning. Having either / both options available with the proper click seems the most flexible option.
Looks like I got with my Curiosity Down (i.e. not checking to see what happens with all these new fangled options and symbols. OOPS... :( )
